Consumerism---That's What This Is All About
Last month, this world is crazy about the Mulan Szechuan Teriyaki Dipping Sauce---soooo ironic when it was caused by a masterpiece that just satirizes this kind of crazy situations.
And then a month later, it's Halloween.
We buy cosmetics and costumes to dress up.
We purchase candies to please kids.
We take huge pumpkins to carve and have fun.
We drink Pumpkin Latte to feel the atmosphere.
Then it's time for Christmas. Then Valentine's Day. Then......

The definition of consumerism is the protection of the rights and interests of the general pool of buyers or an obsession with buying material goods or items.
Laws and rules that protect people who shop and spend are examples of consumerism.
An obsession with shopping and acquiring stuff is an example of consumerism.
As a marketing student, I shamefully assume that we are the producers of consumerism. But should our feelings of happiness rely that much on consumption? Well, at least I can't resist in carving a pumpkin tonight :-)
